National Children’s Day, Sunday 4 March , is just fast approaching.
“This year’s star indigenous animal to help us promote Children’s Day is the Hector’s
dolphin, so many events are expected to be based around water,” said National Project
Manager Children’s Day, Esther Wallace. “There will also be a number of outdoor
activity-based celebrations.”

The key theme of Children’s Day this year is ‘giving time’. Other themes are: love and affection, praise and encouragement, listening and talking, and new experiences.

All events will be registered in the What’s On section of the Children’s Day website
Any group that registers an event on the website will be eligible to receive free Children’s Day resources to use at their event, including action packs (booklet with craft activities, games and colouring-in pages), balloons and posters.
