I get increasingly frustrated by readers who must read a book with a pen in their hand ready to make corrections, change and add words for their own gratification. Don’t these people realise that the readers following them just want to enjoy the book and not be distracted by these alterations. These people who spoil the novel for other people are in fact defacing the book and it is a pity they can’t be found and fined.

Totally in agreement, it’s an appalling habit.
