Click for more on NZ Book Month

‘Everyone says they’ve got a book in them, but I say you should go and get an xray!’ said writer Alexander McCall Smith on one infamous occasion.

Maxine Alterio, Jackie Ballantyne and Vanda Symon have all done what many would like to do – get their first books published.

These three Dunedin-based writers talk about what got them (and kept them) writing, how it feels to have your work critiqued publicly, and what they are planning next.

Join Barbara Lawson (Editor at Longacre Press) as she chairs a lively evening of discussion. This event supports New Zealand Book Month and is one not to be missed!

  • Thursday 13 September
  • 6.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Dunningham Room, Level 4
  • City Library
  • Tickets $5.00 at the door
