The Night Ferry is the second book by Michael Robotham that I have read. A fast moving thriller that maintains suspense.
Having broken her back, Alisha Barba’s dreams of being a detective were shattered. Now on her feet again, but with her career and private life in limbo, she receives a message from an old schoolfriend, Cate, who is eight months pregnant and in trouble.
Cate and Alisha plan to meet at the school reunion, but before they can talk, Cate is knocked down by a car and her husband is killed instantly.
As paramedics fight to save Cate’s life, the first of many haunting and elaborate secrets and deceptions is uncovered.
This leads to a dangerous quest that takes Alisha into red-light districts, the underworld of sex trafficking, slavery and baby trading.
Read this exciting author if you are in the mood to be taken on a heart stopping, heart breaking and also heart wrenching journey.
