Tropic Gothic is the story of a wet season, a house, and a gentle old woman. Together they weave a magical tale of nature’s endless cycle.

Tropic Gothic tells the evocative natural history of an old settler’s cottage in Far North Queensland – of how a tropical forest’s bizarre and beautiful tenants come to inhabit a human realm. The film is a layering of cycles of life and decay upon the rhythm of a wet season during the twilight years of a living house. This is what happens when nature ‘grasps’ back!
