Return of Waka Prow

April 2, 2007 at 10:18 am | Posted in City Library | Leave a comment

The Waka prow which resides on the 2nd Floor of the City Library and which has been on long term loan to the Library from the Otago Settlers Museum is going back there.

It is going into a prime spot within their redeveloped exhibition ‘Kai Tahu Whanui Ki Otago’. This display has a 10-year lifespan so we are unlikely to see the prow back with the DPL.

It has been a gatekeeper to the Taiehu Collection for many years after being brought to the 2nd Floor from the Ground Floor and we shall be sorry to see it go.
